Sleeping Solo
Wish I Had a Pillow by MG Stout
There is nothing worse than trying to fall asleep without something to rest your head on. How much would it suck to have to use a trash bag as your pillow? This is not an uncommon phenomenon. All over the United States of America, people just like you and me don't have a proper place to lay their heads.
EPIC FAIL
Weighty Memories
Always & Forever by MG Stout
"In every life a little rain must fall"...My dad's stock answer to me every time I was disappointed by one of his verdicts. I remember a time I tried to sneak some sugary cereal into our grocery cart. Old eagle eye caught me and told me to put it back. It'll rot your teeth he grumbled. I stomped back to the shelf from whence it came. Loudly I declared how he NEVER bought us anything GOOD! He continued to shop and reminded me once again how in every life a little rain must fall. I looked at him and proclaimed in a very surly voice, "well then I've been getting poured on for years!" Upon hearing this he burst into laughter. I was shocked. This was not his typical response to back-talk. I was really confused by his cackling and started to giggle myself.
Sometimes I wish I could transport the people I love most back to the moment in their lives when their biggest heartache was not getting the cereal of their choice.

Tis Himself
Tis Himself - work in progress - MG Stout
I'm still working from the photographs that I took when I took "the James" into the District. However I have to shelf that work for the time being. You see I have a solo show coming up in November.
WHAT TO DO??????
I know! Team up with a super duper charity like Food For Others. Oh yeah!
I'll give you a few little hints about the show.
1. A portion of the art sales will go directly to feeding our Northern VA neighbors.
2. I will be hosting a food drive in building 4 the entire month of November.
So...Raid your pantries and bring all sorts of non-perishables.
Let's DO SOME GOOD!
Food for Them & Art for You

When You Love Something Let Me Know
World War II Memorial by MG Stout
This lovely couple was in my studio and fell in love with this painting. They wanted to purchase this piece, but there was just one problem. Their very good family friend served on the Pacific Side not on the Atlantic! Egad! So they commissioned me to recreate this magnificent monument highlighting the OTHER side of the memorial.
World War II Memorial Pacific Side by MG Stout
It is so amazing when my work is invited into a loving home. It just makes my heart smile.
Thank you very much for support. I hope this piece brings your family years of joy.
New York Avenue
A Street Walker Named Desire by MG Stout
Once upon a time this woman didn't need to sell herself. I spied her sitting on the stoop of the National Museum of Women in the Arts building - the irony of scene was palpable. MAN ALIVE! Her hair was strikingly white. It was an arresting fried bleach blond. I looked her in the face and saw nothing. Her facial features retreated into the dark shade of her hooded jacket. It seemed to me that she no longer perceived her body as a temple, but rather a commodity. Her face however was another story. It was not for sale and remained under the cloak of anonymity.
